Wood 3 Events that change

Part of the Wood Memory series, Events That Change reflects on the moments that permanently transform who we are.

Working with reclaimed wood, I preserve the natural surface while emphasizing the fractures and interruptions already embedded in the material. Rather than concealing them, I allow these marks to become the visual focus of the work.

Like the wood, our identity is shaped not only by the passage of time but also by significant events that interrupt the expected course of life. Some experiences leave subtle traces, while others alter us irrevocably, becoming part of our memory and redefining the way we move forward.

The work suggests that identity is not built through continuity alone, but through the moments that challenge, transform, and ultimately become inseparable from who we are.
