Wood 2

Part of the Wood Memory series, this work explores how human relationships shape individual identity.

The composition is made of separate wooden boards whose natural grain is intentionally continued across their boundaries. By extending interrupted lines from one board to the next, I create connections that do not naturally exist, transforming the wood into a metaphor for human relationships.

Each continuation represents the influence that one life can have on another. Like the growth rings of a tree, our identities are never formed in isolation but are continuously shaped by encounters, experiences, and the people we meet. Every relationship leaves a trace, altering our direction and becoming part of who we are.

Through this intervention, the work suggests that identity is not a fixed condition but a living structure, woven together by the invisible connections that unite us over time.
